KatiKids PreSchool Daycare is a great place for Toddlers to get ready to start School. As part of their transition to school, we integrate ‘preparation for school’ into the everyday programme in our preschool room.
We believe that it is vital to children’s learning and development to provide a child centered environment. It is important to us that children feel safe, secure and are happy to engage in rich, respectful learning experiences. We encourage children to participate and experience a vast range of learning, from literacy and language to physical and emotional development. We respect tangata whenua and the Treaty of Waitangi through a bicultural programme which is also open to multicultural planning. We believe in providing open communication with parents and whānau to support their hauora (well-being) and provide children with strong foundations that enrich children’s learning and development through their journey of discovery throughout life.
KATIKATI CHILDCARE CENTRE PHILOSOPHY OF TEACHING & LEARNING
we believe in:
Quality Education and care for ALL children
partnerships/Relationships between children/tamariki, family/whanau, educators/kaiako and the wider community
respect for self, others, our environment and our culture
we will provide:
a stimulating, safe and secure environment that provides challenges, supports calculated risk taking and encourages exploration with experienced and qualified teachers
and through this we will:
fill childrens ketes with knowledge through their interests; and encourage lifelong learning
At KatiKids we believe every little bit helps to ensure sustainability for our precious future generations.
We introduce sustainable habits and practices to our children by encouraging recycling, and growing our own veges in our very own KatiKids garden.
As a centre we use Storypark, significantly reducing the amount of paper used for forms and newsletters.
We use local suppliers and partners where possible, supporting the sustainability of businesses in our community.
